Frances Aileen Rhodes, 89, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at the Lutheran Home.
She was born Oct. 21, 1920, in Diehlstadt, Mo., to John and Claudie O'Guin Young Sr. She was married to Lester W. Rhodes in Cape Girardeau 22 years before he preceded her in death.
She was a graduate of Cape Girardeau Beauty School, a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi and a member of Daughters of the American Revolution.
Frances worked at Southeast Missouri Hospital five years, then worked four years for Dr. Stanley Brock. She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Nancy (Robert) Westbrook of Festus, Mo., Jan (Jim) Kendrick of Cape Girardeau; a son, Kim W. Rhodes of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Nina Sommers of Cape Girardeau; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, two grandchildren and her ex-husband.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. today at Cape County Memorial Park, with the Rev. Jeff Long officiating.
Memorial contributions may be given to Disabled Veterans Association or Easter Seals.
