Dalhousie Golf Club earned the American Junior Golf Association's volunteer award for the Rolex Tournament of Champions.
The award is given to the AJGA event that "builds the model team of volunteers committed to the success of the championship," the release announcing the ward said.
"This award truly shows how committed the Cape community is to being a part of junior golf," Dalhousie owner Cord Dombrowski said in a release.
Cape Girardeau's Earl Cotner recently recorded a hole-in-one on hole No. 8 at Kimbeland Country Club.
Cotner, 75, used a 7-wood on the 154-yard hole. It was the third hole-in-one of his career.
Mike Cotner, Wayne Steffens and Don Call witnessed the shot.
Tyson Stoverink crossed the line in 17 minutes, 26 seconds to win the Mardi Gras 5K run/walk, which was hosted by the Notre Dame FCCLA.
Natalie Miller was the top female finisher, crossing the line in 21:05.

The Gators swimming team finished seventh at the Ozark Short Course Championship in St. Peters, Mo.
The meet was comprised of 21 teams from Missouri and Illinois.
The Gators' Gabby Vieira was named the outstanding swimmer of the year by the coaches. She won the individual high point award in the girls 11 and 12 division. She broke the conference record in the 100 butterfly, touching the wall in 59.14 seconds.
Kristian Troxel won the individual point award in the boys 13 and 14 division. He set team records in the 500-yard freestyle (4:50.65) and 1,650 freestyle (16:44.75).
