Cape Girardeau County's only convicted serial killer, Timothy Krajcir, was moved from the Stateville, Ill., Correctional Center Wednesday to Paducah, Ky., where he's charged with kidnapping, resulting in a death, and first-degree burglary.

Krajcir was nearly three years into an 80-year sentence at Stateville for two murders, one in Williamson County, Ill., and another in Jackson County, Ill.

Krajcir, 66, has not been tried for the murder of Joyce Tharp, who he confessed to kidnapping from her Paducah residence and driving her to Carbondale, Ill., killing her and driving her back to Paducah.

Her body was found near a church in the Forest Hill neighborhood.

A McCracken County deputy clerk said Krajcir had jail arraignment Thursday, where a judge was to schedule a future date for him to appear before a circuit judge.

On March 25, Krajcir will be read charges against him and given a pretrial conference date.
