Dolly Foster, 92, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, March 19, 2010, at Chateau Girardeau Health Center in Cape Girardeau. She was born March 1, 1918, in Ellington, Mo., to Grover C. and Eunice B Mooney Callahan. She and Samuel F. Foster were married May 22, 1943, at Temple, Texas. He preceded her on March 5, 2004...

Dolly Foster, 92, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, March 19, 2010, at Chateau Girardeau Health Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born March 1, 1918, in Ellington, Mo., to Grover C. and Eunice B Mooney Callahan.

She and Samuel F. Foster were married May 22, 1943, at Temple, Texas. He preceded her on March 5, 2004.

She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau, taught elementary school for more than 12 years and was a member of AF of L teachers union.

She was a 1968 graduate of Southeast Missouri State University. She had lived in San Antonio, Gulfport, Miss., and Belleville, Ill., before she moved back to Cape Girardeau in 1998.

Survivors include a son, Robert E. Foster of Rock Island, Ill.; three daughters, Mary Sue Foster of Dallas, Kate Dunn of San Diego, Nancy Foster of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Buell Callahan of McHenry, Miss., Jim Callahan of Little Rock, Ark.; four sisters, Nita Hanger of Ellington, Faye Albright of Florissant, Mo., Eloise Brockmann of St. Ann, Mo., Thelma Lites of McHenry; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four brothers and two sisters.

A graveside funeral service will be at noon Friday at Bloomfield Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Mo., with the Rev. Bill Cummins officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimers Association, American Cancer Society or the Kidney Foundation.
