SYCAMORE HILLS, Mo. -- Elizabeth Louise Kaatmann, 70, of Sycamore Hills was baptized into the hope of Christ's resurrection Sunday, March 28, 2010, at her home with her family by her side.

Beloved wife of Theodore E. Kaatmann; dear mother of David and Steven Kaatmann, and Carrie Hailey, all of St. Louis County; dear grandmother of Brendan and Keegan Hailey; dear sister of Mary M. Hagan-Harrell (Stan) of Manchester, Mo., Pauline Latuda (Frank) of Maryland Heights, Mo.; and William L. Hagan (Mary Ann) of Summerville, Tenn.; dear aunt, great-aunt, cousin and friend.

She was born Oct. 11, 1939, in Nelson County, Ky., to William Leo and Mary Margaret Shean Hagan. She married Theodore E. Kaatmann Dec. 18, 1971, at St. Sebastian Church and the presiding priest was her cousin, the Rev. Clarence Howard, pastor at St. Joseph's Cathedral in Bardstown, Ky.

Elizabeth graduated from Chaffee, Mo., High School and received a bachelor of science degree in education from Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau. She taught 40 years in the Riverview Gardens School District, retiring in 2002.

She was so very proud that her three children were graduates of St. Louis University.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday and 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at Ortmann Funeral Home in Overland, Mo.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of the Pillar Church. Interment will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
