A Cape Girardeau man accused of unlawfully entering a residence at at 1325 Dunklin St. was granted a change of venue this week before Circuit Court Judge William L. Syler.

Pili Showers' first-degree burglary case will now be heard in New Madrid County.

Showers, 21, allegedly entered the home with four other Southeast Missouri State University students, where Blake Carlton, another student, was assaulted and suffered a head injury.

Two of the students, Brett Jones and Antonio Garritano, were charged with assault. Jones, who also had his case moved to New Madrid County, will appear befoe a judge May 25, and Garritano is set to appear for his preliminary hearing in Jackson May 5.

Jared Goodson, also of Cape Girardeau, faces also faces a burglary charge and is scheduled to appear in court April 5.

Showers was held on a $10,000 bond but was released after he posted bond Feb. 16.
