BENTON, Mo. -- Several Scott County fire departments battled a blaze at a home Thursday but couldn't save the structure from a total loss.

Firefighters with the New Hamburg, Benton, Commerce Fire Protection District; the Oran Fire Protection District; the Scott County Rural Fire Protection District and the Blodgett Fire Protection District all worked on stopping the fire.

A call came in to Scott County 911 at 4:18 p.m. about a house fire at a home owned by Carol Stuckey at 190 Quail Lane near Benton, said a dispatcher with Scott County 911. When firefighters arrived on the scene, the fire was fully involved.

The origin of the blaze was unknown Thursday night and the structure was a total loss. No one was injured.
