Emma Louise Williams, 80, of Jackson passed away Thursday, May 12, 2005, at her home.

She was born Aug. 16, 1924, at Neelyville, Mo., daughter of George and Vivian Johnson Hyland. She and Donald H. Williams were married June 8, 1946, in Las Vegas, Nev.

Louise was a 1941 graduate of Neelyville High School, and worked for the former McDonnell-Douglas until 1946. From 1946 to 1951 she worked for Southern California Edison Electric Co., and was librarian at Neelyville High School from 1967 until retiring in 1980.

She was a member of Shawnee Hills Baptist Church in Jackson, and was active in Women's Missionary Union and vacation Bible school.

Loving survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and Charles Brooks of Millstadt, Ill., Donna and Dr. Timothy Miller of Jackson; two brothers, Howard Hyland of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Glenn Hyland of Beebe, Ark.; six grandchildren, Bobby (Amy), Steve (Jennifer), Jason (Crystal), and Ashley Brooks, Melissa Adams (Mark), and Kimber Miller; and two great-grandchildren, Paige and Kennedy Brooks.

She was preceded in death by her husband, four brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call Saturday from 4 to 8 p.m. at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Steve Patterson officiating. Interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Charlie, Bobby, Steve and Jason Brooks, Timothy Miller and Mark Adams.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Southeast Hospice.
