Four winners from the first Pitch, Hit and Run contest in Cape Girardeau advanced from Saturday's event to this Saturday's sectional competition in Fenton.
Top scores in that level of the baseball skills competition will be used for comparison to determine participants in the St. Louis Cardinals team championship at Busch Stadium.
Thirty-two youths competed Saturday at Arena Park. Ross Essner topped the 7-8-year-old division, Kody Moore won among ages 9-10, Clinton Heuer was first in 11-12, and Tanner Hiett dominated the 13-14 division.

Kirbys and Kuntzes team up for victory
The team of Ron and Priscilla Kirby and Rick and Joyce Kuntze won the Cape Girardeau Country Club Friday Couples event last week.
The runner-up team was comprised of David and Kathy Morris and Roger and Deb Mealy.
Honorable mention went to Mary Jane Eftink and Linda Tewis and Merle and Shirley Gelsheimer.
The event was hosted by Leon and Mary Jane Eftink.
Tryouts for the Cape Senior Babe Ruth team will be noon to 2 p.m. Sunday at Notre Dame High School. The team is open to players ages 16 to 19 and the cost is $65.
