Trinity Lutheran Church in Friedheim, Mo., recently added two stained glass windows in the narthex of the church. The windows were gifts from the Tuschhoff family. The design of one window is centered on a dove; this window is given in memory of Hilbert Tuschhoff by his wife, Aileen, and daughter, Donna. A second window design centers on the cross. This window was given in memory of Oscar and Mary Tuschhoff, parents of Hilbert and Harlan Tuschhoff. Willard Conrad of Perryville made the windows for the church. The Rev. David Dissen, interim minister for the congregation, dedicated the windows in mid-April.
The Church of Christ in Cape Girardeau is sending 12 of its members on a mission trip to Capetown, South Africa. The group, ranging in age from 23 to 70, leaves Thursday and returns in mid-June. Don Boyd, a former missionary in the region, is helping to organize the trip. He and his wife have returned to Capetown on several occasions. Much of the group's work will be in church planting: leading Bible studies, leadership classes and encouraging church members among eight different congregations. Boyd said most of the churches are in low-income neighborhoods. There will be a combined worship service May 29 among all the congregations. "They love to come together and sing," Boyd said.
