* Angels star Vladimir Guerrero, the reigning AL MVP, will be sidelined at least two weeks due to a partial dislocation of his left shoulder.

Guerrero was injured in the fifth inning of Friday night's 9-0 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers while sliding into home and trying to avoid catcher Jason Phillips' tag.

Guerrero underwent X-rays Saturday at Anaheim Memorial Hospital, and was examined by team physician Dr. Lewis Yocum.

"I think two weeks gives us a time frame to see where he's at," Yocum said during the first inning of Saturday's game against the Dodgers. "It's less traumatic than a true dislocation. There's concern any time there's a shoulder injury in a high-level athlete like him." Advertisement Yocum said an MRI will be performed Monday or Tuesday - after the swelling in Guerrero's non-throwing shoulder goes down.

Guerrero is hitting .303 with seven homers and 24 RBIs in 41 games.

* Royals first baseman Ken Harvey was put on the 15-day disabled list Sunday because of recurring back problems.

Harvey has been bothered by a sore back all year and will get time to rest, interim manager Bob Schaefer said.

The move made room for right-hander Ryan Jensen, who was called up from Triple-A Omaha to start Sunday against St. Louis.

* Missouri used a six-run eighth inning rally Sunday to defeat Baylor 10-4.

The Tigers (37-19, 16-11 Big 12) trailed Baylor 3-1 with two outs in the top of the eighth. Derek Chambers had an RBI double, Hunter Mense singled in two runs and Gary Arndt doubled in two more to key the rally. Another run scored on a bases-loaded walk.

Baylor (36-20, 19-8) cut the lead to 7-4 in the bottom of the eighth on a homer by Kevin Russo. But Missouri added three runs in the top of the ninth on a two-run single by John McKee and an RBI single by Greg O'Neill.

* The Chicago Bears have released one of their top scorers, kicker Paul Edinger, the team announced Sunday.

Edinger led the Bears in scoring in each of his five years in the NFL and is the 5th-leading scorer in team history.

Edinger averaged 92.6 points per season with Chicago, but recorded a career-low 67 points in 2004. He was one of only four kickers in team history to score 100 points in a season, a feat he accomplished twice.

Drafted by the Bears in 2000, the Michigan State product had a career high 112 points in 2001.

Bears General Manager Jerry Angelo said the team granted Edinger's request to be released after observing newly acquired veteran Doug Brien and two rookies during this weekend's minicamp.
