Sikeston, Mo. -- Jeanne E. Burchfield, 76, of Sikeston died Saturday, May 21, 2005, at her home.

She was born Dec. 5, 1928, in St. Louis, Mo., daughter of James and Ora Morehead Maxwell. She was formerly married to Paul House. She and Garland Burchfield were married Feb. 12, 1983, in Sikeston. He died Sept. 11, 2001.

Burchfield was an agent with Prudential Insurance in Sikeston. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Sikeston.

Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Cahoon of Vacaville, Calif; a stepdaughter, Carloyn Adkins of Kansas City, Mo.; a brother, Robert Maxwell of Cape Girardeau; three sisters, Lora Mae Meeks and Louise Sweet, both of Bertrand, Mo., Doris Bone of Charleston, Mo.; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. at the chapel, with the Rev. Rick Lasley officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery at Sikeston.
