Charles Vincent Pecaut, 72, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, May 21, 2005, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

He was born March 4, 1933, in Perryville, Mo., son of Vincent and Alice LaRose Pecaut. He and Patty Bales were married June 20, 1953, in Farmington, Mo.

Pecaut graduated from Southeast Missouri State University in 1964 with a bachelor's degree.

He worked in sales. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War. Pecaut was also a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. He was a Eucharistic minister and usher at the church.

Pecaut was a past president of Notre Dame Home and School Association, and he coached little league baseball. He was a former member of the Jaycees, Elks and VFW.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Steven Pecaut of Charlottesville, Va., Craig and Ricky Pecaut of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Teresa Crisler of Tamms, Ill.; a brother, Roy Pecaut of Tulsa, Okla.; two sisters, Lucille Asbridge of Mesa, Ariz., Frances Foeller of St. Charles, Mo.; six grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by an infant brother.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home, with parish prayers at 7 p.m.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, with the Rev. Charles Prost officiating. Entombment will be at Memorial Park Mausoleum in Cape Girardeau, with military rites by the Missouri Honor Team.
