The Southeast Missouri State softball team ended a disappointing season on a positive note with Sunday's 2-0 win at Tennessee Tech.

Southeast, which lost both ends of Saturday's doubleheader, ends the year 17-31 overall and a last-place 6-17 in the 10-team OVC.

Tech fell to 25-28 and 11-12 to wind up sixth in the conference. The top six finishers make the OVC tournament.

Stefanie Barnes pitched her third shutout of the season. She allowed just three hits.

The Redhawks scored both their runs in the first inning. Carmen Fowler had an RBI ground ball and Alex Ramirez delivered an RBI single.

Southeast had seven hits, led by Nicole Troncoso's 4 for 4 performance.

Troncoso, a junior, finished as the Redhawks' top hitter this season with a .345 average.
