Ruth E. Mackenzie Dragoni, 78, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, May 28, 2005, at Chateau Girardeau Health Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born June 13, 1926, in Ipswich, Mass., to the late Alan James and Edna M. Alexander Mackenzie.
She and John Dragoni were married Aug. 16, 1947, in Ipswich. She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church of Cape Girardeau, a Girl Scout leader over 30 years in Ipswich, president of PTA and chairwoman of Republic Town Committee. In Brentwood, Tenn., she was president of the Newcomers Club. In Lake Forest, Ill., she was on the board of the Newcomers Club. She had been store manager of Thompson's Stationery.
Surviving are her husband, John Dragoni of Cape Girardeau; daughter, Carla A. Raper of Georgetown, Texas; son, Jack Dragoni of Chaffee, Mo.; grandsons Mark Dragoni of Chaffee and Michael Alan Dragoni of Collinsville, Ill; sister, Janice of Bend, Ore.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Justin Dragoni, and two sisters.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home. The service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dr. Clayton Smith officiating. Entombment will be at Memorial Park Mausoleum in Cape Girardeau.
