Erika Shea Upchurch and Francisco Javier Perez were married Jan. 2, 2010, at Immaculate Conception Church in Jackson. The Rev. John Harth performed the ceremony. Organist was Jerry Ganiel and vocalist was Jane Oehl, both of Jackson.

The bride is the daughter of Richard Upchurch of St. Louis and Laure Upchurch of Jackson. The groom is the son of Gloria Perez of Houston, Texas, and the late Javier Perez.

Maid of honor was Emily Upchurch of Jackson, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Erin Upchurch of Jackson, sister of the bride; Maria Perez of Houston, sister of the groom; Brittney Ruopp and Kristen Golike of Cape Girardeau.

Andrew Green of Miami, Fla., was best man. Groomsmen were Kyle Triplett of Spearfish, S.D., Joseph Goff of Farmington, Mo., Adam Schwent of Ste. Genevieve, Mo., and Paul McGuire of Cape Girardeau. Ushers were David and Jon Hinton of Cape Girardeau, uncles of the bride.

Candlelighters were Ryan Upchurch of Jackson, brother of the bride, and Javier Perez of Houston, brother of the groom.

Flower girl was Kayli Johnson of Chaffee, Mo., niece of the bride. Ringbearer was James Trimarco of Ancram, N.Y., cousin of the groom.

A dinner reception was held at the Elks Lodge in Cape Girardeau. Cake attendants were Susan Schuchert of New York, Jamie Hinton of Jackson, Lesa Hinton and Sandy Hinton of Cape Girardeau, all aunts of the bride.

The groom's mother hosted the rehearsal dinner Jan. 1 at Dockside in Cape Girardeau.

Mrs. Perez received a degree in integrated marketing communications from Southeast Missouri State University. She is a banker with US Bank in Cape Girardeau.

The groom received a bachelor's degree in international business from Southeast, and received a master's degree in finance Saturday from the university. He is a graduate assistant with the Financial Aid Office at the university.

After a wedding trip to Florida, the couple is residing in Cape Girardeau.
