Wengert fires ace at Perryville C.C.

Brett Wengert carded his first career hole in one last week at Perryville Country Club.

Wengert used a 7-iron to ace No. 8, a par 3 playing 169 yards. Wengert is a junior at St. Vincent High School and is competing today and Tuesday at the Class 1 state golf tournament at Rivercut Golf Course in Springfield, Mo.

Sanders wins event at Kimbeland C.C.

Margaret Sanders earned the medalist honor with a 79 at the Ladies' Day event Thursday at Kimbeland Country Club in Jackson.

Karen Heisel and Vickie Long won play of the day (most fives) in championship flight. Harriet Drusch finished first in A flight, Dorothy Holland claimed B flight and Carolyn Barks won C flight.

Morris earns medalist at Cape Girardeau C.C.

Kathy Morris was medalist at the Women's Golf Association event Thursday at Cape Girardeau Country Club.

Beth Mapes and Vicki McKinney tied for first in play of the day (even holes). Mary Sue Layton finished second and Luanne Kiefner was third.
