Sharon Brooks

THEBES, Ill. -- Sharon L. Brooks, 64, of Thebes died Sunday, June 20, 2010, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born April 18, 1946, in Chicago, to Charles and Jeanette Storm Jordan. She married Van Brooks in 1979.

She was an avid bingo player.

Survivors include her husband, Van, of Thebes; two daughters, Jan Smith of Cape Girardeau, Sara Goldsmith of Thebes; three sons, Chuck McNelly of Oran, Mo., Van Brooks Jr. and Sidney Brooks, both of Thebes; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dee and Candy; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Mike.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to service time today at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms, Ill.

The funeral will be at 6 p.m. today at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bobbie White officiating. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Thebes at a later date.
