Knudtson, Reid, Deere tie for first

Gunnar Knudtson, Alex Reid and Evan Deere all shot 79s to tie for first place in the boys 16 to 19 tour 18 holes division at Wednesday's Gateway Junior PGA Series event at Bent Creek Golf Course.

Cody Stevens and Cody Cox both shot 80s to tie for first in the boys 14 to 15 tour 18 holes division.

Garrett Faulkner edged Nick Cantoni by one stroke to win the boys 14 to 15 nine holes division.

Sarah Bell shot a 46 to win the girls 10 to 11 nine holes division.

Williams, Cook team for win

The team of Danny Williams and Lachelle Cook won the SEMO Horseshoe Association's tournament at the Scott City Knights of Columbus.

Virgil Schreckenberg and Ron LeGrand were second, while Randy Senciboy and Jerome Backfisch placed third in the 14-team tournament.

LeGrand and Martin Williams won the tournament at the Backyard Club.

Senciboy and Carolyn Schreckenberg took second, while Mike Davault and Cook finished third in the five-team event.

The next tournament is Saturday at the Oran Jaycees.

Davis sets two conference records

Gators swimmer Brogan Davis set Southeast Missouri Swim Conference records in the boys 9 and 10 50-meter freestyle and 50 backstroke at the meet in Scott City.

He finished the 50 freestyle in 32.91 seconds and the 50 backstroke in 37.94.

Davis also helped the boys 11 and 12 100 medley relay team set a record in 1:20.22. Samuel Hahs, Matthew Chandler and John-John Kiefner joined Davis on the relay team.

Caitlyn Palmer set the summer league conference record in the girls 11 and 12 50 backstroke (34.76) and 50 butterfly (31.86).
