PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- A Perryville woman arrested Sunday on an outstanding warrant is facing new criminal charges after allegedly carrying and concealing a syringe into the Perry County

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- A Perryville woman arrested Sunday on an outstanding warrant is facing new criminal charges after allegedly carrying and concealing a syringe into the Perry County

Jail.

Brandy A. Adelman, 31, was charged Monday with possession of a weapon at a county jail, a felony.

Adelman admitted to deputies to using the syringe to inject heroin before her arrest Sunday, according to the Perry County Sheriff's Department.

Adelman, being held on a $10,000 cash-only bond, was arrested for a probation violation on a 2008 theft charge.

Adelman pleaded guilty to felony domestic assault in Perry County in November 2007 and a misdemeanor peace disturbance in April 2003.

Adelman also has two criminal charges pending in St. Louis -- possession of a controlled substance and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.
