Corey Abernathy

SEDGEWICKVILLE, Mo. -- Corey Lynn Abernathy, 20, of Sedgewickville died Sunday, July 25, 2010, in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Sept. 22, 1989, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Stephen and Carole Bangert Abernathy.

Corey was a member of Millersville First Baptist Church. She was a CNA at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She is survived by her parents, Stephen and Carole Abernathy; maternal grandmother, Marilyn Bangert; paternal grandparents, Elmer and Charlette Abernathy; all of Sedgewickville; a brother, Andrew (Brittany) Abernathy of Jackson; a sister, Tia (Terry) Angel of Marble Hill, Mo., her twin sister, Casey (Nick) Seabaugh of Sedgewickville; two nieces and two nephews.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Ervin Bangert.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Liley Funeral Home in Patton, Mo.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Daniel Hale officiating. Burial will be in Lixville Cemetery near Sedgewickville.
