Improvements to Route D in Jackson will continue this week as contractors will be performing dirt work next to the road, installing guardrail and striping the new section of roadway. The improvements are from Black Oak Trail (Cane Creek) to U.S. 61 in Jackson. Final dirt work next to the road will begin Monday. The contractor will be installing guardrails from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, resulting in one lane of traffic in the work zone. Weather permitting, striping on the new section of road will take place Thursday. In addition to safety issues, motorists are also asked not to pass equipment to avoid getting paint on their vehicles.
