Cape Girardeau County commissioners approved a request from the county's information technology director to purchase new computers for various county offices at Thursday's meeting.

Cape Girardeau County commissioners approved a request from the county's information technology director to purchase new computers for various county offices at Thursday's meeting.

Eric McGowen said he will purchase four computers from Innovative Idea Integration LLC of Jackson for $994 each. He will also purchase two laptop computers from them for $1,025 each. All of the new computers are replacing outdated models that are currently in use.

McGowen received four bids for the purchase and Innovative Idea Integration had the lowest price on both items.

The computers will be purchased with money in the IT new equipment budget, the prosecuting attorney's bad check fund, the treasurer's new equipment budget and the collector's tax maintenance fund.

Commissioners Paul Koeper and Jay Purcell approved the purchase. Presiding Commissioner Gerald Jones was not present at Thursday's meeting.
