Marilyn Jo (Jody) Kiehne, 87, of Cape Girardeau, died Sunday, Aug. 22, 2010, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Nov. 16, 1922, in Cape Girardeau to Claude and Eugenia Nenninger Rains.

She and William A. (Bill) Kiehne were married Dec. 25, 1942, at St. Mary Cathedral in Cape Girardeau.

Jody was a member of St. Mary Cathedral, its Mothers Club, and was one of its first parish council members. She was involved with the Southeast Missouri Hospital Auxiliary and was a member of Friends of Saint Francis. She attended Southeast Missouri State University.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, William H. (Bill) Kiehne and wife, Rosemary, Pardeeville, Wis., Tom Kiehne and wife, Sandy, St. Louis; a daughter, Mary Jo Masterson and husband, William, St. Louis; nine grandchildren, Dave Masterson, Tampa, Fla., Mark Masterson, St. Louis, Kathy Alexander, Pleasant Hill, Mo., Christi Barden and JT Kiehne, both of Pardeeville, Chris Talley and Meghan Talley, both of Cape Girardeau, Will Kiehne and Emily Kiehne, both of St. Louis; and three great-grandchildren, Kylee, Abby and Andrew.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Patricia Talley; and a grandson, Mike Masterson.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau, with parish prayers at 6:30 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary Cathedral in Cape Girardeau, with the Revs. Tom Kiefer, Richard Rolwing and James Seyer concelebrating.

Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to St. Mary Cathedral or American Cancer Society.
