THEBES, Ill. -- Michael R. Dodson, 51, of Thebes passed away Monday, Aug. 23, 2010, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Feb. 10, 1959, in New Bedford, Mass., son of Raymond E. Dodson and Noma Sanders Dodson.

Michael was an electrician with a heating and air conditioning company.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Dale Dodson Sr., in June 2008.

Survivors include a daughter, Holly Dodson of Cape Girardeau; a son, Cody Dodson of Thebes; his parents, Raymond and Noma Dodson of Thebes; a grandson, Ivan Edwards; three brothers and their families, Frank, Marsha L. Dodson, Frank Dodson Jr.; Roger, Ellen Dodson, Tory, Laura, and Angela Dodson; Monty, Carla Dodson and Jason Dodson; a sister-in-law and her family, Shelia Dodson, Starla Sissom, Dale Dodson Jr., all of Thebes; a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Jones Funeral Home in Tamms, Ill.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. John Warren officiating. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
