Capaha Municipal Pool has closed to the public for the season, according to a news release issued Thursday, with only scheduled events to be held at the pool for the remainder of the summer. The release says the pool in Capaha Park closed Sunday because most of its lifeguard staff had returned to school, creating a staffing problem that would have been an issue through the intended closing date of Sept. 6. Central Pool, commonly called "the Bubble," is also closed due to renovations that will likely continue through next month. The news release promises that more information on the Central Pool project will be available soon. Cape Splash, the relatively new water park on Kingshighway, is still open on weekends, Tuesday and Friday evenings and will remain open on Labor Day, the release said.
