Mr. and Mrs. Gene Heise of Cape Girardeau observed their 65th wedding anniversary Aug. 12, 2010.

Heise and Dorothea Rickard were married Aug. 12, 1945, at First Presbyterian Church.

Maid of honor was Maxine Bush Boren and bridesmaid was Viola Hill. Best man was Leon Fassel and groomsman was Homer Rickard, brother of the bride.

Heise was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps.

The Heises have four sons, Kenneth, Monty, Randy and Brad Heise. They have nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A family celebration is planned Oct. 9 at the Heise home.
