The Textile Rental Services Association of America has endorsed Rep. Jo Ann Emerson's re-election bid, citing her concern for entrepreneurialism in a difficult economy. Emerson is seeking re-election to the U.S. House of Representatives in Missouri's 8th District.
"Rep. Emerson deserves credit for prompting federal agencies to consider how they impact businesses and jobs during rulemaking," said TRSA president Joseph Ricci in a news release. "Rep. Emerson understands that industries don't necessarily need to be compelled to act responsibly, the majority of businesses take their social responsibility seriously."
Textile rental provides about 200,000 high-paying jobs that cannot be exported, according to the release. TRSA member companies rent reusable textile products, mostly work uniforms and linens, with laundry pickup and delivery service to all kinds of businesses and institutions.
The Textile Rental Services Association of America represents the $15 billion commercial laundry industry, which employs nearly 200,000 people at more than 1,500 facilities nationwide, including every major business and industrial region, congressional district and city in the country, the release said.
