FENTON, Mo. -- Virginia Murle Long, 84, of Fenton, Mo., formerly of Marquand, Mo., passed away Friday, Sept. 17, 2010, at Delmar Garden of Meramec Valley Nursing Home in Fenton.

She was born Jan. 4, 1926, at Marquand, daughter of George and Florence Emiline Moore Easley. She and Walter "Jay" Long were united in marriage July 18, 1942, at Marquand.

Mrs. Long worked in the dry cleaning industry as a dry cleaner and was a member of the Liberty Congregational Methodist Church near Marquand.

Survivors include a son, Gary Long of Marble Hill, Mo.; four daughters, Henrietta Ruehl of Camdenton, Mo., Connie Coibion of Farmington, Mo., Vicki Hessler of Fenton, Sherry Schrader of Pevely, Mo.; two sisters, Faye Whitener and Peggy Shrum of Marquand; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter, Phyllis Petry; and two infant grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Liley Funeral Home in Patton, Mo., and after 10 a.m. Tuesday at Liberty Congregational Methodist Church.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with the Rev. Jamie Hovis officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
