My pledge

The Republican Party offered "A Pledge to America" as a set of goals.

Our own platform has five specific goals.

Term limits for congressmen. As congressional member seniority increases, lobbyists flock to them with campaign contributions used to defeat any opposition.

Reduce spending to stop government borrowing. Eventually, no one will lend to us, and printed money will be worthless.

Energy independence. As we buy petroleum from abroad, wealth is transferred out of this country to the benefit of our enemies.

Stop illegal immigration. They stress our public facilities and keep wages down; a recent article forecast Missouri may lose a seat in the House because the 2010 census included illegals counted in other states.

Follow the Constitution. Protect First and Second Amendment rights and restore states' rights.

These long-term problems have not been addressed by either party when in power; this is why I'm running for Congress as an independent.
