Daniel L. Sebaugh, 72, of Daisy passed away Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010, at his home.
He was born Aug. 17, 1938, at Neelys Landing, Mo., to Pervis and Viola Hahs Sebaugh. He and Linda Kay Hahs were married July 18, 1970.
Dan was a 1956 graduate of Oak Ridge High School. He earned his teaching degree in math and science from Southeast Missouri State College and then taught math and science in the Jackson School District from 1960 to 1971. Dan also owned and operated a dairy farm for 50 years, retiring in 2003.
He was a lifelong member of Sargents Chapel Lutheran Church, where he served on the cemetery board, taught adult Sunday school and served in various other capacities through the years. His other commitments included serving on the boards of Oak Ridge School for 21 years, Mid-America Dairymen and the Farm Services Agency Committee.
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Linda of Daisy; two sons, Mark D. Sebaugh of Daisy and Craig L. Sebaugh of Decatur, Ill.; two brothers, Ted Sebaugh of Cedar Hill, Tenn., Jim Sebaugh of Hillsboro, Mo.; a sister, Martha Holler of Perryville, Mo., and many dear nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Ruth M. Jurick.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson and Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. to time of service at Sargents Chapel Church near Daisy.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church with the Rev. Jerry Bailey officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to Sargents Chapel Cemetery Association.
