Southbound Interstate 55 in Ste. Genevieve County at Bloomsdale, Mo., will be reduced to one lane with a 16-foot width restriction as construction on the new weigh station continues. Weather permitting, the work will begin at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, and the road will reopen at 7 p.m. Oct. 27. This section of road is between routes OO/DD and Route Y, the old Bloomsdale rest area. The work will consist of the contractor trenching and placing poles for the monitors along the edge of the roadway. Work will also include building an emergency crossover in the median. The work zone will be marked with signs and warning devices. Motorists may expect reduced speeds.
