Route BB bridge in Stoddard/Bollinger counties opens to traffic

SIKESTON, Mo. -- The Route BB bridge over Little River Ditch No. 11 at the Bollinger and Stoddard county line opened to traffic Wednesday. Work to replace the bridge began Sept. 13. This marks the 250th span completed through the Missouri Department of Transportation's Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program. With construction season wrapping up, MoDOT is opening an improved bridge about every two days. By the end of the year, more than 300 bridges will have been repaired or replaced statewide through the program. All 802 bridges to be improved statewide will be completed by the end of 2013.
