Southeast Missouri Hospital names King vice president, CFO

Southeast Missouri Hospital has appointed Hugh King as vice president and chief financial officer. He has been serving as interim CFO for the past few months. "Hugh has extensive experience in strategic financial planning that will be crucial as we continue to build our health system and secure a very exciting and dynamic future for Southeast," president and CEO Debbie Linnes said. "To have someone with Hugh's caliber of experience and talent is a true asset to our system. He also is an exceptional mentor and teacher and will support the development of the entire organization's leadership team." King has worked in the health care industry for more than 25 years, including eight years in the Health Care Auditing and Consulting Group at Ernst & Young, known for its expertise in identifying and capitalizing on business opportunities. During his career, he has served as a chief financial officer at a two-hospital system in Indiana and a five-hospital system in Florida. He also has been chief operating officer/chief financial officer at a three-hospital system in California and the CEO at two smaller hospitals in Texas. He is a certified public accountant and holds a master's in business administration from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University.

Doctor joins staff at Immediate Convenient Care

Dr. Jesse Hoff has joined Saint Francis Medical Center's Immediate Convenient Care team. Specializing in primary care, Hoff brings extensive experience in family practice, convenient care and occupational medicine. Immediate Convenient Care, at the intersection of North Kingshighway and Mount Auburn Road, offers walk-in urgent care services seven days a week and provides complete family medical care and occupational services. Hoff served as a family practice clinical instructor at the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, as well as the assistant director at St. Mary's Family Practice in Evansville, Ind. Before joining Saint Francis, Hoff operated his own primary care clinic. He earned his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis and completed his residency in family practice at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville.

John Paul Long, a makeup artist at Belladonna Salon, Spa & Boutique in Cape Girardeau placed second in the Jane Iredale The Skincare Makeup Soft to Sultry Look national contest. Perryville lawyer completes mediation training

Perryville, Mo., lawyer Kim R. Moore recently attended a Missouri Bar training session on mediation and problem solving at the Lake of the Ozarks. Moore serves as a volunteer in The Missouri Bar's Complaint Resolution Program, a public service for clients who have filed consumer-type complaints against their lawyers.

Seyer attends Cabinet Roundtable

Steve Seyer, president of S&W Cabinets Inc. in Chaffee, Mo., was recently included in a group of experts from the cabinet industry who were invited to attend the 2010 Cabinet Roundtable Meeting hosted by Federated Insurance at the Lafayette Club on Lake Minnetonka in Minnesota. Participants from around the country explored the challenges faced by the cabinet industry and shared solutions on how to overcome some of the current economic challenges while continuing to provide quality service to their clients and employees.

Concrete workers receive training

Steve Thiele, Tammy Thiele and Dusty Watson, along with 14 other employees at Thiele Concrete Finishing Inc. in Cape Girardeau, have completed their Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) training and are now certified by MSHA for a concrete project at the LeFarge Joppa plant expansion in Grand Chain, Ill. Thiele Concrete Finishing was one of two companies working on a 6,000 cubic-yard concrete pour at the mine Oct. 10.
