Mayovah L. Ludwig, 87, formerly of Jackson, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2010, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. She was born Aug. 23, 1923, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Fred and Mamie Luper Mirly. She and Norman Ludwig were married June 14, 1942. He passed away Nov. 22, 1995...

Mayovah L. Ludwig, 87, formerly of Jackson, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2010, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Aug. 23, 1923, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Fred and Mamie Luper Mirly. She and Norman Ludwig were married June 14, 1942. He passed away Nov. 22, 1995.

Mayovah was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Pocahontas, where she was a former member of the Ladies Aid, a Sunday school teacher 50 years and sang in the church choir. She was a member of the Lutheran Home Auxiliary Board more than 25 years, volunteered at the Lutheran Home more than 30 years, was a project judge at the Altenburg Fair many years and was an avid quilter.

Loving survivors include a son, Lynn (Susan) Ludwig of Jackson; a daughter, Norma Tuschhoff of Jackson; four grandchildren, Bradley Tuschhoff of Cape Girardeau, Sandra (DeWayne) Clements of Jackson, Joleta Ludwig of Jackson, Cassie (Danny) Siebert of Chaffee, Mo.; a sister, Marietta Lee of Long Island, N.Y.; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two brothers, Fred Mirly Jr., Marvin "Mert" Mirly; and a sister, Marlene Stubbs.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson, and from noon until service time Sunday at St. John's Lutheran Church.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the church, with the Rev. Bruce Ritter officiating. Interment will be in Fairmount Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church Building Fund.
