CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Velma Dobbs, 90, of Chaffee died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2010, at a daughter's home in Memphis, Tenn.
She was born June 1, 1920, in Marquand, Mo., daughter of Hessie Edward and Blanche Edith Conrad Stone. She and Otto Dobbs were married Feb. 16, 1944. He preceded her in death April 3, 1985.
Velma was a member of First Baptist Church, VFW Post 3127 Ladies Auxiliary and American Legion Post 389 Ladies Auxiliary, all in Chaffee.
Survivors include a daughter, Marilyn Johnson of Memphis; four brothers, Bill Stone of Millersville, Donnie Stone of Daisy, Roy Lee Stone of Jackson, Jack Stone of Oak Ridge; and a sister, Wanda Lee Sparks of Jackson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; spouse; a son, Ronnie Dobbs; and four brothers.
Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Rev. Matt Butrum officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
