With less than a week before the general election, Republican Clint Tracy has more than twice as much money on hand as his Democratic opponent in the Cape Girardeau County presiding commissioner race. According to the latest disclosure reports, Tracy has $1,087.48 on hand, while an amended report states Pat Wissman has $496.63.

Tracy received $500 each from Cape Girardeau physician Bill Ogborn, Cape Girardeau insurance agent Jon Stahly and self-employed Steve Obermann of Cape Girardeau. He received $300 each from the Missouri Association of Nurse Anesthetists and Trey Curtis, self-employed from Cape Girardeau. Current presiding commissioner Gerald Jones donated $132.01 to Tracy.

The report indicated the Tracy camp spent $642 for direct mail and graphic design, as well as $2,531.69 for ammunition and targets to be used at a skeet shooting and barbecue fundraiser.

Wissman received a $200 donation from the Cape Girardeau County Democratic Central Committee, and he loaned his campaign $300. He lists $80.75 for a newspaper advertisement as his only expense.

In the county Recorder of Deeds race, Democratic incumbent Janet Robert leads Republican Scott R. Clark in money. Robert's latest report states her campaign has $9,534.89 on hand, while Clark's report states he has $2,833.65.

Robert received $500 from the Communications Workers of America and $300 from Central Trades and Labor. She also loaned her campaign $700.

Robert spent $953.09 for newspaper advertisement.

Clark did not receive any campaign contributions since his last filing, but he loaned his campaign $2,000.

He spent $682.35 for newspaper advertisement.
