Scott City junior Brandon Shemonia looks in perfect position heading into the Class 2 state cross country meet.
Shemonia finished the Class 2 District 1 course in 16 minutes, 44.12 seconds, more than 20 seconds faster than the second-place finisher Saturday.
The Scott City boys took second to qualify for the state meet.
Eric Essner finished seventh, while Luke Keesee took 13th for the Rams.
Saxony Lutheran qualified three runners.
Sam Breite finished 12th and Brandon Fritsche took 14th for the Crusaders. Kris Cook rounded out the top 15 to advance.
Saxony Lutheran's girls team advanced with a second-place finish.
Kristin Dippold finished third, while Rachael Gruenwald took ninth for the Crusaders.
Scott City's Melanie Lacey advanced with a fourth-place finish, while Woodland's Haley Morris took 13th to advance.

Notre Dame enjoyed a success day by qualifying both its teams for the state meet.
The Bulldogs girls captured the district title behind Elizabeth Kiblinger's third-place finish.
Breanna Conklin took eighth, while Elsie Anderson followed in ninth.
The Notre Dame boys captured second place with 82 points.
Ethan Holcomb finished second, while Josh Johnson crossed the line 13th to lead the Bulldogs.

Molli McGowan finished seventh for Chaffee, while Makayla McGruder advanced for Meadow Heights by taking 15th.
The Oak Ridge boys will get an opportunity to better their second-place finish at last year's state meet after finishing second Saturday.
Ethan Seyer won the district title, while Corvin Schoen took 10th for the Blue Jays.
Delta's Zach Riegert (sixth), Austin Seabaugh (seventh) and Dwight Nance (14th) also earned trips to the state meet.
Daylan Davis finished fifth, while Steven Bright took 15th to advance for Meadow Heights.
Advance's Braden Bien finished eighth to qualify for the state meet.
