Southeast Hospital unveils new brand: SoutheastHEALTH

The Southeast Missouri Hospital health care system has a new brand name, SoutheastHEALTH.

President and CEO Debbie Linnes said SoutheastHEALTH is a better name for the network of providers, services and facilities that make up its regional health care system.

The Cape Girardeau hospital is dropping the word Missouri from its name, changing to Southeast Hospital.

"This is not simply an evolution in name alone," Linnes said. "We are reaching out beyond the borders of Cape Girardeau to partner with regional health care providers to expand and enhance health care services across our region."

The logo will look much as it has in the past, with the exception of the word 'Missouri.' Linnes said the word no longer reflects the region served by Southeast.

In addition to patients from Missouri, residents of Southern Illinois, western Kentucky and northern Arkansas also come to Southeast Linnes said.

"We conducted many separate internal discussions at Southeast to evaluate the new brand identity plan with presentations, comments and question and answer sessions over a period of four months," she said.

"Additionally, we did external research to examine considerations such as how other health care systems successfully managed their brand change."

The new brand was unveiled to all of Southeast's boards and employees prior to the public announcement.

Southeast also has multiple campuses and facilities, including HealthPoint Fitness in Cape Girardeau and Jackson, Southeast Home Health, Southeast Hospice and Southeast Endocrinology at Doctors' Park, Southeast Wellness Connection at West Park Mall and Southeast Medical Plaza on Broadway and Mount Auburn Road.

In February, Southeast's new Regional Cancer Center and West Campus, the largest construction project in its history, will open off Mount Auburn Road near Interstate 55. Southeast also operates satellite outpatient cardiac rehab services in Sikeston, Mo., and Dexter, Mo.

"In the name of good financial stewardship, signage will be replaced in a prioritized manner as our budget allows," Linnes said. The first new SoutheastHEALTH brand signage will be at the West Campus.
