Dinner, show at Plaza Conference Center

Ray's of Kelso will host a variety dinner show today and Saturday at the Plaza Conference Center. American Roadshows will perform songs, stories and impersonations. The dinner starts at 6 p.m., show at 7, today and Saturday at the Plaza Conference Center. Tickets are $29. Call 332-1118 for reservations.

December arts and crafts show planned

The seventh annual Bonney Bank Fine Art and Craft Sale will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Dec. 3 and again from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 4 at Christ Episcopal Church, 101 N. Fountain St. The two-day event will feature jewelry by Anne Foust; goat soap by Barb Bailey; pottery by Danna Cotner; holiday paintings and cards by Rusty Newton; and jewelry, clothing and other items from local artists.

Locals plan New Year's Eve St. Jude benefit

A few Southeast Missourians have joined together to plan a New Year's Eve St. Jude Benefit. The night will feature dinner, drinks, a raffle and live music from The Big Ticket, with proceeds going to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. Tickets are $50. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m., raffle at 7:30 and the band starts at 8 on Dec. 31 at the Bavarian Halle. Staged reading of 'The Bear' at River Campus

The Southeast Missouri State University Department of Theatre and Dance will hold a staged reading of "The Bear" at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. in the Rust Flexible Theatre. In a staged reading, actors read the lines as though they were in the play but with no set or costumes. The performance is free, but donations are accepted.
