ARE all families as disgusted with the poor choices we have in television as I am? THE U.S. now has more troops deployed in Germany than Iraq. Combined U.S. troops in Germany and Japan is more than 90,000. While discussing cutting government spending, why not bring some of these service men and women back to bases within our borders so they can stimulate local economies while saving taxpayers money...
TV choices
ARE all families as disgusted with the poor choices we have in television as I am?
Military spending
THE U.S. now has more troops deployed in Germany than Iraq. Combined U.S. troops in Germany and Japan is more than 90,000. While discussing cutting government spending, why not bring some of these service men and women back to bases within our borders so they can stimulate local economies while saving taxpayers money.
Dry weather
I realize everyone knows that it's been extremely dry outside, but I'd like to remind everyone of this during deer season so that they can use extra caution when they're in the woods. As a landowner, it would be terrible to have our land burned because of a careless neighbor throwing out a lit cigarette.
Perfect solution
ANOTHER homeless shelter in Cape Girardeau? Wow, maybe we could open a homeless shelter outside of town and open a chicken farm. Let the homeless run it for room and board, sell the eggs at a low cost and everyone would be happy. And put a goat or two in there for the man who needs goat milk.
Not hypocrites
I have to laugh when claims are made about the tea party being hypocrites because they want their share of Social Security and Medicare. Look at your pay stub. Mine indicates I pay taxes now and am eligible to draw on them later.

Dirty habit
WHY do smokers have the right to poison the air others breathe in public places? Non-smokers have the right to eat in restaurants without breathing air polluted by smoke. Respect the rights of others.
Grading system
I think it's funny how the toy testers on KFVS12 were from South Elementary. They graded those toys with the A to F standard, yet they don't use this grading standard in their school system. How can they grade toys when they don't even use grades themselves?
Stop the grants
IT makes me sick to see the city giving a grant for the building on Sprigg Street and Broadway. Every time you turn around, there's a grant being handed out, and meanwhile we're asking people to sacrifice. This has got to stop. This is just as bad as tax evasion.

I would like to thank Applebee's and Texas Roadhouse for the free meals they offered to veterans and the radio station C106.1 for their tribute to veterans on Veterans Day.
Smoking courtesy
I never smoked in my life, but I have permanently damaged lungs with a chronic cough, and I was told by doctors that it was from breathing secondhand cigarette smoke. Smokers, please think about this before you light up around others.
