All the area high school events reported Friday to the Southeast Missourian.

The Jackson boys basketball team picked up its first victory of the season Friday night with a 65-43 home victory against Hillsboro.

Bobby Clark led Jackson (1-1) with a game-high 22 points. Tyler Rhodes added 12 points for the Indians, who led throughout the game.

Jackson returns to action at 7 p.m. Monday when it faces Charleston in the first round of the SEMO Conference tournament at Sikeston High School.

Saxony Lutheran defeated St. Vincent in the third-place game of the Crystal City tournament.

Gus Klaus had 25 points for the Crusaders, while Gabe Bohnert netted 16 points.

Adam Winkler had 16 points and six assists for St. Vincent. Taylor Sauer added 10 points, while Ryan Boxdorfer pulled down 11 rebounds. Brett Wengert had six assists for the Indians (1-2).
