BENTON, Mo. -- Scott County will start the year with a new emergency management director.

Scudder will assume her new responsibilities as emergency management director along with floodplain coordinator on Jan. 1.

While she will continue to oversee county addressing, "we'll be looking for an assistant addressing technician to come in," she said.

Scudder has worked as an assistant to Evans since June 2008, commissioners noted.

Commissioner Donnie Kiefer said they are pleased to have been able to do an "in-house" promotion with a staff member who has experience working in that department.
