Blunt is not voting

THIS is concerning Rep. Roy Blunt, Republican from the 7th District. I noticed in your paper that he has been reported as not voting in almost all measures brought up before Congress. I was wondering, has he ever voted on anything, for or against it?

Pick up after your dog

I was just driving by Petco where it is just so cute to be able to take your dogs there and let them shop around and meet up with other dogs and stuff like that. It's kind of fun. And there was a lady there with her two little dogs. The one stopped and pooped right in the parking lot, right where people walked. But did the lady stop and pick up the poop? Oh, no, her and her little dogs went on off so somebody can stomp in the poop and curse her later. If you're going to do that with your cute little dogs, you need to be responsible. Just a responsible pet owner is all it takes.

THANK you for the article and photo (photos on the website) of the former shoe factory. As one who is not native to the area, I thoroughly enjoyed this bit of history, especially the area called Red Star.

RECENTLY my son attended a basketball game at the Show Me Center with his grandparents. My son is 3 years old and still is talking about meeting the players and Rowdy the Redhawk. The players signed a program and one of the players took a picture with him, and he is extremely grateful. I just wanted to take the time out to say thank you coach Nutt for being such a positive role model for your players.

Earmarks, the reality

REPUBLICAN senators talk out both sides of their mouth. They say to get rid of earmarks, but they sure don't give up on taking a bag full of them.

Wood smoke danger

WOOD smoke has particles that stick in your lungs and stay there. In California in many areas they have banned new apartments, condos and townhouses from having fireplaces. Too many people in too small an area are producing this type of smoke.

Nonsmoking dancing

WANTED: A smoke-free place to take my wife dancing in Cape Girardeau County. Please respond with any suggestions.

Moving the sailboat

I'M usually not one to say much about things that doesn't concern me, but just wondering how much longer the sailboat is going to set in the Diversion Channel before the owner is going to take responsibility and move it.

Bush's fault

I read Mr. Limbaugh's piece and once again he is trying to blame Democrats for the 2008 deficits. Last time I looked Mr. Bush was president then. You can't tell me that somebody who is so bold as to tell the terrorist to "Bring it on" is to much of a coward to use the veto pen.
