FESTUS, Mo. -- Alfred Lum Oliver, 81, of Festus entered into rest Monday, Jan. 3, 2011, at his home.

He was born April 9, 1929, in Arkansas, to James and Lillie Lee Latham Oliver.

He was a retired truck driver with Consolidated Freight.

Oliver was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Lawanda Mills Oliver; three sons, Roger (Linda) Oliver of Festus, James "Rick" (Debbie) Oliver of Imperial, Mo., Kevin (Tammy) Oliver of Crystal City, Mo.; a daughter, Vicki (Ervie) Brown of Festus; a brother, Manual (Janice) Oliver of Jackson; three sisters, Marie (Bob) Abernathy of Morley, Mo., Wilma (Gary) Finn of St Louis, Bonnie (David) Brenning of Troy, Mo.; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Mahn Twin City Chapel in Festus.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Radiant Life Church in Festus. Interment will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.
