CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Genevieve Theresa "Gen" Griffin, 87, of Hazelwood, Mo., formerly of Chaffee, died Monday, Jan. 3, 2011, at Chaffee Nursing Center.

She was born March 3, 1923, in Chaffee, daughter of Charles Vincent and Igenia Theresa Strack Griffin.

Genevieve was an assembly line worker at Century Electric and then a secretary at Normandy Osteopathic Hospital.

Survivors include a brother, Paul Griffin of Chaffee; five sisters, Cecilia Hindman of Chaffee, Helen Knudson of Fairdealing, Mo., Mary Stevens of Hazelwood, Shirley Griffin and Pauline Asmus of Chaffee.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Oscar and Albert Griffin; and a sister, Agnes Uhrhan.

Visitation will be from 9 to 10:45 a.m. Thursday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, with the Rev. Randy Tochtrop officiating. Burial will be in St. Ambrose Cemetery.
