Gilbert A.R. Dambach, 92, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2011, at Saint Francis Medical Center.

He was born Nov. 23, 1918, in Old Appleton, to Robert F. and Louise Hilbert Dambach. He and Norma B. Birk were married Nov. 1, 1952, in Cape Girardeau.

Dambach was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and Trinity Men's Club, was an usher, and served on the offering committee. He had been a skilled carpenter during his lifetime.

Survivors include two sisters-in-law, Lillian Birk and Helen Birk; three nieces, Pat Bollinger, Carol Schmidt and Margie Volker; six nephews, Marvin Zschille, Dale Thompson, and Dan, Gary, Roy and Reman R. Birk.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and two sisters, Virginia Zschille and Lela Thompson.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to service time Sunday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Douglas Breite officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Marvin Zschille, Bradley Bollinger, Gary Gateley, Larry Urhahn, Gary Welter and Gary Birk.

Memorial contributions may be given to Trinity Lutheran School.
