Perry Conrad

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Perry H. Conrad, 81, of Perryville died Monday, Feb. 14, 2011, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born in Perry County, Sept. 30, 1929, son of the late Herbert and Edna Shrum Conrad. He and Virginia F. Bangert were married Oct. 2, 1948.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Karen (Jerry) Ayers of Perryville; a sister, Dorothy (Leslie) Johnson of Perryville; two grandchildren, Matthew Lukefahr and Renee (Todd) Jones; two great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Jones and Bryant Jones.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son-in-law, David Lukefahr.

Conrad was owner/operator and auctioneer for Conrad Auction Service and he was a cattleman.

Mr. Conrad was a member of Crossroads United Methodist Church, American Legion and he was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict.

Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today and 6:30 a.m. to service time Thursday at Young and Sons Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Young and Sons Chapel, with the Rev. Howard Miller and the Rev. Greg Dowler co-officiating. Burial will be in Crossroads United Methodist Church Cemetery with military graveside service provided by American Legion and Delta Team.

Memorials are preferred to the Diabetes Association, American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
