A Cape Girardeau man has been charged with driving while intoxicated after police say he was involved in an accident that caused his car and another vehicle to burst into flames Thursday on South Sprigg Street. Troy Jones, 34, of Cape Girardeau has been charged with DWI, leaving the scene of an accident, driving with a revoked license and having no insurance. He is being held at the Cape Girardeau County Jail on a $15,000 cash-only bond. Cape Girardeau police officers were dispatched Thursday about 8:40 p.m. to a motor vehicle accident involving the two vehicles in the 2500 block of South Sprigg Street, department spokesman Darin Hickey said. Both vehicles were engulfed in flames, he said, and one of the people at the scene reported Jones fled the scene. Jones was found just south of where the accident took place and was arrested.
