Katherine Suzanne Brown and Douglas Marvin Overbey were married May 29, 2010, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau. The Rev. David Hulshof performed the ceremony. Readers were Audrey Camren of Benton, Mo., and Danielle Rodriguez of Texas, cousins of the groom.

Pianists were Lenny Kuper of Cape Girardeau, and Jeffrey Overbey of Urbana, Ill., brother of the groom. Soloists were Charles Vaughn of Cape Girardeau, grandfather of the bride, and Joanie Kerby of Benton, aunt of the groom.

The bride is the daughter of John and Melissa Strickert of Jackson. The groom is the son of Dan and Gail Overbey of Cape Girardeau.

Maid of honor was Carrie Brown of Jackson, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Megan Green of Cape Girardeau, cousin of the bride; Ashley Skinner of Jackson, Mary Wagener and Kelly Smith of St. Louis, and Christina Kline of Columbia, Mo.

Jeffrey Overbey served his brother as best man. Groomsmen were Blake Urhahn of Cape Girardeau, cousin of the groom; Chris McCrate of Iowa, Brian Steele and Allen Frey of Cape Girardeau, and Mike Purcielli of Columbia. Ushers were Jared Green of Cape Girardeau, cousin of the bride; Lee Strickert of Jackson and Mark Strickert of Mississippi, stepbrothers of the bride.

Flower girl was Claire Burger and ringbearer was Cooper Overbey, cousins of the groom. Claire is the daughter of Wesley and Allison Page of Scott City. Cooper is the son of D.J. and Trish Overbey of Poplar Bluff, Mo.

Candlelighter and guestbook attendant was Ann Strickert of Jackson, stepsister of the bride. Christina Rodriguez of Texas, cousin of the groom, was program attendant.

A dinner and dance reception was held at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Jackson.

The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner May 28 at Dexter Bar-B-Que in Cape Girardeau.

Mrs. Overbey is a 2006 graduate of Jackson High School. She received a bachelor of science degree in nursing from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2010. She is a registered nurse at the University of Missouri Hospital.

The groom is a 2004 graduate of Notre Dame Regional High School. He received a bachelor of science degree in biochemistry from the University of Missouri in 2008. He is a third-year medical student at the university.

After a cruise to Cozumel, Mexico, and Grand Cayman, the couple is residing in Columbia.
